A week of outfits #12

I’ve been thinking about my outfits and style a lot. I’m very privileged to work in an environment where we don’t have a strict dress code. As long as you don’t come naked into work, you are free to wear anything you like really. 😄 So most of us dress very casually. Sometimes when I wear something more dressy, I feel like I stand out a lot. Of course, it may all just be in my head, but, surprisingly, I don’t like to draw too much attention to myself. This is why I think my “work outfits” can only be a guide of what to wear if you work in a casual environment like I do. You can dress most of these up by swapping sneakers for boots or heels. However, if you work in finance, for example, you can’t really use any of these, I guess. This is one of the reasons I’ll never work in finance – I put comfort above anything else and, well, I wouldn’t be too comfortable in that environment. 😄

Whoop! New header, how do you like? 😁 Although, this week the number of outfits is a bit limited and that’s because at the time when these pictures were taken I had a teambuilding at the seaside for which pragmatism was more important than style 😄. (It was very cold at the beach and I had to dress in layers). And so for this post I skipped those teambuilding days as I had only one pair of jeans to work with and multiple black tops (T-shirt, long-sleeve, hoodie), so the looks were very very similar. Otherwise, I’m quite proud of a few of these and I can’t wait to hear which one’s your favorite this week. So let’s get to it!

A week of outfits #10

Well, here we are! 10 weeks of outfits – although in reality much more, since I’m sharing more than one week’s worth in these posts for now. Speaking of which, my boyfriend asked me why I shared pictures from the seaside last week. You see, he thought these posts reflect the outfits from the exact previous week. Of course, this is my aim, but since I had a slow start – took the pictures but didn’t post them – I still have about 2 month’s worth to catch up. So the outfits below represent what I wore at the beginning of September. And, my darling boyfriend, since there are 9 pictures, this is what I wore in 2 weeks, not in one week. But I thought we were cool, since I explained it here. 😄

Back when I didn’t document my outfits I always tried, as a memory exercise, to remember what I wore and what I did on the same day the week before. It was a trick that I read about somewhere which is supposed to improve your long-term memory. Because it was almost always impossible to remember, I find it so strange that now I can recall exactly what I did on the day I wore an outfit or another. The brain works in mysterious ways 😄

Here’s Waldo

My sister describes my style as “mom-like” and that’s because I like to be comfortable – I rarely wear heels, (while she has a closet-full of high-heels that she can’t loan to anyone, not even her sister, because she has tiny feet and wears 35!) I don’t own a lot of dresses and I don’t really like to show a lot of cleavage. Of course, sometimes these things do happen, but it’s definitely not the norm. However, unlike my sister, I think my style is rather child-like than mom-like. I wear a lot of sneakers, I own a lot of pullovers and don’t own nearly enough grown-up clothing (i.e. office attire).
