I know I’ve bragged a few posts ago about how warm and sunny it is in Bucharest and how spring has arrived – I was wrong, I must’ve meant autumn. :)) It seems that we deserved exactly 2 weeks of warm weather and now it’s back to rain and lower temperatures. Hey, we could’ve gotten nothing at all, right?

Well, it has been unofficially here for a week and a half now – spring, I mean – the weather is very nice in Romania, we had temperatures of over 10° C almost every day. But I’m talking about that feeling you get when you know for sure the season has changed, when you can smell spring in the air: the days are longer, you are more energetic and optimistic and ready for new and exciting stuff. That’s how I feel – today, more than ever. Because today is the little holiday we call Mărțisor, on which men give women brooches and trinkets with a red and white string attached – you can see below just what I mean – and the women have to wear these trinkets, or at least the string, throughout the entire month of March. It’s a very old tradition and it signifies the beginning of this beautiful season we call spring.Read More »
Hi, my name is Andreea and I like cutesy chick-lit. You can go ahead and sue me! It’s hard to admit that you like chick-flicks or chick-lit and people will judge you for it – probably because the stories seem easy and predictable or because most of them are cheesy, so maybe it makes it seem like you are a bit superficial or something. I don’t know what it is, but I do know that I’m a girl and by default we’re suckers for romantic stories. So this being my little piece of the internet I can finally admit it: I liiiike chick-lit. It’s my own little escape from the real world and from my real life filled with my job, housework and all the other responsibilities that come with being an adult. If life is so hard and overwhelming sometimes, why shouldn’t we have something to makes us feel all fluffy and pink on the inside again? So in between my favorite genres of dystopias and mystery I occasionally read a chick-lit novel and it feels so good! 😀

Okay so it’s not actually new phones, it’s just one, but you get the point.
This story happened before Christmas, the time when most miracles happen (I have no idea if this statistic is true – might be, but miracles almost never happen for me, so I might not be the best authority on this – insert self-pity-cry-here), the miracle being that I finally decided what phone to buy :)) I know, my life is so small, right? Shutup.Read More »

Okay, so… I really didn’t want to do this, because I find New Year’s resolutions to be kind of cliche. But, you know, I do have some wishes for the new year, as I’m sure everybody does, and I also love lists, so might as well combine the two and call them hopes, dreams or wishes – although great in theory, I think resolutions are too strict and that’s why people are inclined to break them. So I hope these things will happen in 2016 and I will do what I can to make them happen. But, although there is hope and good intentions, there is no certainty because none of us can control every little thing in our lives or the lives of others – believe me, as a control freak, it is very hard for me to admit these things! 🙂
